Sirius Passet
Viita Milja
There can be found plastic molecules six times more than plankton at the great Pacific garbage patch. Synthetic beauty seduces us, and deceives instincts of animals; puppets on the film are built of collected marine debris and organic waste of the beaches. Sirius Passet is filmed on 16 mm film, which has been waiting 20 years to be filmed. The image almost disappears behind the veil of the granules. The title of the work comes from the Cambrian Lagerstätte in Greenland. The fauna of Sirius Passet lived in the depths of Panthalassa at the time when continents began to diverge from each other. Panthalassa took a new shape; today is is known as Pacific Ocean.
